BRI 10th Anniversary Nationwide Series: Roundtable Discussion in Kuala Lumpur

Organized by the Centre of Regional Strategic Studies (CROSS) and the Southeast Asia Research Centre for Humanities (SEARCH) on June 8, 2023, this productive closed-door meeting, themed “The Role of Technology in Poverty Alleviation and Technopreneurship Empowerment Strategies: Successes and Challenges,” brought together passionate individuals committed to driving positive change.

This event received support from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, as well as the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia. We were honored to have YB Chang Lih Kang, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Dr. Zhao Xiangdong, Counselor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, join us.

With the participation of 40 stakeholders from academia, universities, government, NGOs, the private sector, experts, and think tanks, we engaged in insightful dialogue, addressing Malaysia’s current challenges and drawing inspiration from China’s successful case studies.
Together, we explored the transformative power of technology, discussing both successes and challenges in its use for poverty alleviation and technopreneurship empowerment.
