Proud to announce the success of the BRI 10th Anniversary Nationwide Tour! 🌏 CROSS along with Pusat Khidmat ADUN Kebun Bunga and SEARCH, hosted a Round Table Meeting and Seminar at Chung Ling Private High School in Penang.
Penang was the final stop of this nationwide tour, with esteemed guests like YB Wong Hon Wai , Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy,and Madam. Ding Qiao Vice Consul-General, Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Penang, gracing the occasion alongside YB Lee Boon Heng , ADUN Kebun Bunga.
During the closing ceremony, YB Wong emphasized fostering greater understanding between Malaysia and China for mutual benefit. Madam Ding Qiao highlighted 2024 as a pivotal year for BRI cooperation, emphasizing the need for high-quality collaboration and advancing key projects.
The seminar, titled “Embracing the Past, Shaping the Future: A BRI story of Penang and China,” featured insightful talks by Dr. Tan Chee Seng, Senior Lecturer and a PhD supervisor of History Section at the School of Humanities USM, Dato’ Dr Cheah See Kian, President of Malaysia Silkroad Society, and Mr. Clement Liang, Director of Penang Global Tourism, with moderation by Ms. Yvonne Tiew.
