The seminar themed ‘Building Sustainable Livelihoods with Technology: Entrepreneurship and Job Creation in Low-Income Communities’ was successfully organised on June 8, 2023, where the entrepreneurs and stakeholders from Malaysia and China came together to explore how the new technological revolution can empower low-income communities through entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, addressing pressing social development needs.
It is honoured to have YB Chang Lih Kang, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation and Ouyang Yujing, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the establishment of a strategic partnership on Science, Technology, and Innovation under the Belt and Road Initiative. This collaboration brings together various parties, including Cross, SEARCH Pusat Pendidikan Berterusan Universiti Malaya, Lincoln University College, Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET), Jinan University Alumni Association of Malaysia, and Tech Murah.
This partnership, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit, aims to foster collaborative efforts in research and development (R&D), knowledge and technology sharing, skills enhancement and training, as well as the exchange of experiences and resources in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
The speaker for the seminar was Mr Chong Chern Peng, Vice President for Digital Power Business Huawei, Puan Nuraizah Shamsul Baharin, Managing Director of Madcat World and Dr Mr Beh Ching Yew, Head of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation; while Asst. Prof. Dr. Joe Liaw Siau Chi, Dean (Faculty of Communication, Cinematic and Performing Arts), New Era University College served as the moderator.
